Addressing Your Bamboo Concerns

Is bamboo waterproof? Will water damage bamboo furniture? Bamboo furniture is coated with NC varnish, which protects it from water damage in the short term. However, it is not recommended to place it in damp or watery environments for an extended period, as bamboo is prone to mold in high-temperature, high-humidity conditions.

Does NC varnish have any effect on people? NC varnish is a safe furniture coating, especially after drying, and is widely used for solid wood furniture. Our products take more than two months from production to delivery, allowing the varnish to evaporate most of the solvents used in its production. Therefore, it has no effect on people or pets.

Can natural bamboo furniture be painted? If the entire product is made of bamboo, it can be painted. However, some products have parts that are MDF, which cannot be painted. Please refer to our product descriptions for specific details.
